I am proclaiming that for here in our neck of the woods, we are enjoying the last blast of Winter...it was in the LOW TEENS this morning! BRRRRR We had SNOW on Saturday...a beautiful sight...I love to watch snow fall! My husband has the day off so between appointments and hopefully a visit from the heater repair guy [our system has been cranky all season, and the weekends flirtations with winter...were just too much...] we are going to go to lunch and possibly a great adventure! I'll be checking back in later today.

Love is in the air
I prefer to celebrate Valentines' Day all week!
Love can not be contained to just one day!:)
Not exactly 'fine print' but in yesterday's post did you see, "Stop back by tomorrow....Love is in the Air all week! One of my lovely followers will be randomly selected and a token of L*O*V*E will be soon be arriving in the mail."?
I dearly would love to send each of you a gift to celebrate the week...maybe next year...if I start now, who knows what might be created by this time next year!

I Spy LOVE
Happy Valentine's Day!
Today we celebrate and shower the people we love with L*O*V*E.....
That's the easy part...
Here's something to think about: what if, we each showered total strangers or one of our blog followers with a gift or token of friendship, a smile, words of encouragement?
Stop back by tomorrow....Love is in the Air all week! One of my lovely followers will be randomly selected and a token of L*O*V*E will be soon be arriving in the mail.
While you are considering your random act of L*O*V*E I wanted to share with you what I will be working on today...I will be hand quilting my I Spy LOVE quilt!

Waiting is the hardest part...
8 1/2 hours........is a very long time to stitch away as the smells from the kitchen drift up the stairs.
Earlier, I loaded the Crock Pot with yummy goodness a bit of this, a pinch of that, more of those...tonight for dinner we shall feast upon Italian Wedding Soup, Salad and Pineapple Cake.
Thank goodness I have tons to sew!
Hoping the time will pass quickly!

Conversation Hearts Have a Mind of their own
It was only yesterday that Jane of Jane's Fabrics and Quilts posted her darling Conversation Heart Table Topper. :)
Do you recall how she had wanted to create a table runner and the hearts wanted desperately to be a topper?
Her conversation hearts hopped right on over and visited me yesterday afternoon and are still chatting away in the sewing room today....they want to be a mug rug too! :)
Actually this is the very thing I enjoy about blogging and creative blog hops: the inspiration and creativity everyone shares! When ideas pop into my head and keep multiplying until I 'do' something.
Jane, thanks so much for sharing your 'chatty' Conversation Hearts because now, I have a new Valentine Mug Rug! :)
Now to go hide for a bit so I can complete the Log Cabin Quilt Blocks and continue celebrating Abraham Lincoln's birthday!

Happy Birthday Abraham!
Today is Abraham Lincoln's birthday and when I was in school we used to celebrate the day by creating crafts to honor him, celebrating the day of his birth, learning about the time period, and being thankful for his contributions to help end slavery and restore our country to One Unified Nation Under God. I miss those days.
Today, I am changing plans just to be able to celebrate once more Abraham Lincoln's life. [On his birthday and not on 'President's Day'.]
And yes, I've already made plans to celebrate George Washington's birthday too....Cherries will be involved!
In honor of Abraham Lincoln I am making log cabin blocks today to be added to my Row-Quilt. And may we as a nation be reunited once more to stand together as One Nation Under God with Liberty and Justice for All.

Turn on Your Heart Light
Valentine's Day is Thursday, thankfully we do not have to wait to celebrate!
Hugs & Kisses Blog Hop begins Monday, as in tomorrow!
This afternoon I am getting ready...pulled from my stash are pink, red, purple, hearts. The cutting table is clear and my bobbins are loaded! The laundry is done, the kitchen is clean...
Just looking at the schedule I get excited, anticipating the creative adventures saturated in love, oh, what a great way to spend the week!
I think some sparkle should be added to my supplies, off to gather some sequins, beads, buttons...
One more glance at the week's schedule won't hurt....enjoy!

Running with a DARE is like running with Scissors
Yes, I am still happily eyeball deep in the Dare to Dresden creative flow!
My family is not so sure...since taking the Dare, Dresdens are everywhere.
It's getting dangerous, piles of laundry are growing, food is scarce...as my time has been consumed by this dare!
Below are a few of the Dresden blocks I've created since the day I hopped...January 25th...in the Dare to Dresden Blog Hop.
And the plan is still on to create a Dare to Dresden Friendship Quilt....after I make a few more blocks!

Love.....True Love
Something about February, I can't help myself...hearts take over!
Every year is the same...hearts, hearts, hearts...then they spread their wings and fly away.
This year is no different, hearts are multiplying anticipating Valentines' Day...in my journals, my paintings, my sewing, the cookie jar, on clothing...
Below are 2 paintings I created last year, I can't define or describe love without the WORD...
True Love heals the broken heart, restores peace, gives hope, sets each of us free from chains that limit our potential, encourages each step of the way towards our destiny, His banner over us is love.
True Love is Jesus, and we are the apple of His eye, we are highly favored, it is His delight to shower each of us with love, to see each of us prosper in body, soul and spirit.
May you be blessed this day beyond measure with every breath you take, may Love be multiplied 1000 fold!

Houston, I've got a problem
There is a big and I mean major problem in the studio this morning! Amazing what you can find when cleaning.
I've come face to face with an Alien Invasion and have been held captive by multiplying UFOs.
YIKES!
I've been able to document by hidden camera a few of the culprits [25] but there are more....many more!
I knew that I had been on a roll but this is on the verge of getting out of control!
This is but a small stack of 25 quilt tops created in the last year...and this doesn't even begin to take into account the completed quilts!!
Houston, I do have a problem!!!
Drawing out patterns and ideas is a help yet when I start creating more are hatched and I must experiment and explore the options!
Thus the major invasion of Aliens and UFOs.
I need ideas, solutions how to tackle this mountain!
[To be considered in the solution, all decorative stitches and quilting is by hand, the tops are pieced by machine, and I am adding to the mountain weekly.]
