All About Me Blog Hop

A wall hanging for the studio!
Yes, there really are 156 blocks made from 312,  1/2 square triangles on the mini-quilt
in the background ..... each mini-quilt block measuring just under 1/2 inch.

Who*What*When*Where*How*Why

This project....such reflection....who was the easy part...Me.

Who:Me

You can call me Beulah, the nickname my husband gave me...He got the name from books we used to read our children when they were small. (His nickname is Hank, from the same book series...."Hank the Cowdog" written by John R. Erickson.)

Hank and Beulah

What:I wear a lot of 'hats's! Artist, Designer, Photographer, Quilter, Seamstress, Painter, Potter, Writer, Blogger, Teacher, Illustrator, Sister, Aunt, Wife, Mommy, Friend, Dreamer,Listener, Radical Worshiper & Prayer Warrior,Cook, Explorer,Gardener, Window Washer.... I LOVE: Jesus, People old & young alike, Patterns, Colors, #2 pencils, Tea[hot or iced], Lemon & Lime, Cookies, Seafood, Salads, Spinach, Denim, Dark Chocolate, To let my hair down, Birds, Cats, Horses, the Night Skies, Nature, Warm Sunny Days, Cold Snowy Days,Bugs and Crawly things, Quilts, Rain & Rainbows, Working with my hands, Flowers, Vegetables, Reading,Barefeet, Old Books, Fishing,Instrumental Music,Sewing Notions, Gardening...Please NO snakes or pickled beets!

A self-portrait painting challenge from several years ago.
How:The Lord has blessed me with what some would call an over-active imagination...it is constantly in over-drive, there is never a dull or boring moment. I do not remember a time in my life when I wasn't creating something and I can get quite grouchy on the days when life's events keep me from creating. [Thankfully that isn't too often!]I can easily spend 8 - 10 hours non-stop when creating and many days must be reminded to eat!

When:There are nights I will suddenly awake from sound sleep and head to the studio to tackle the next creative adventure! Yet, I prefer to do most of my work during 'normal' daylight hours and like to get started as soon as possible...right after a giant mug of hot tea....actually, that mug is a quart sized antique mason jar. I LOVE hot tea!

Where:Our house is a full time studio, no where is safe! Any surface is 'fair game' when it comes to creating! I do try to keep the messy adventures confined to the garage and the sewing upstairs...keyword...try.

Why:I just can't help myself...like I said above, my brain is constantly 'in gear'! Many of my ideas come at the oddest times, triggered by random events, conversations, sermons, dreams...all of which are scribbled down, tucked away in journals as I plot and plan.

After all, "I'm a Little .... Creative"

Today's schedule for your enjoyment!

  43. I love how you changed this lady into you! I also get grumpy when I cannot work on stitching, sewing, crafting, gardening. Today I am house cleaning, my day off and I am taking a break because, I would rather be doing anything but! Next I need to go give my chickens some attention. We are in the middle of another snow storm and I have put that off a bit. It was lovely stopping in and getting to know you!

  50. I loved your project and I loved reading your story! I wish I could develop your love for hot tea - I want to, I like it, but I don't love it. And it would be so much better for me than a cold Diet Dr. Pepper in the mornings. :) One of my daughters swears I traumatized her when she was a child by trying to make her eat pickled beets. I plead innocent. :) blessings, marlene
