Welcome!
Today is the 'Official' Launch and Ribbon Cutting of my Blog, Sowing Stitches and also my day to participate in "In Your Words" blog hop!
My grandfather always used to tell us when we were growing-up, "if
you are going to do something...DO IT!"
And what better way to get my 'feet wet' than to participate in a Blog Hop?
Even sweeter...the Blog Hop theme is about words...I love words, always have, except for the 'dress incident' in first grade.
My mom made me a maroon broadcloth jumper and embroidered the sight words from none other than, "Dick and Jane" on the front of the jumper.
I wore the dress only once!
Why?
The first and only day I wore the dress the entire class kept 'reading me' in their excitement of seeing our reading words somewhere besides inside our readers.
Evidently, it was a bit overwhelming to my 6 year old self.
Back to the hop.
When I first learned of this hop, I knew I wanted to participate but didn't have a blog...
So...I got busy, learned a few things [there is still so much I want to learn about blogging] and the rest is history.
Linda has been great she is such an encourager clearly obvious as to why she is such a wonderful cheerleader!
And Madame Samm has delightful creative ideas to push and challenge our creative adventures!
Thanks a million for inspiring us all to set our sights high and soar on the wings of creativity!

On
December 20. 2012 I posted the following on my blog:
December
20, 2012
LOVE
LOVE
The theme / focus for
2013 at Sowing Stitches is LOVE.
After much heartache, death, violence, wars and rumors of wars covering the media and world news, I chose LOVE as my focus for 2013.
A year set apart of creative adventures filled to overflowing with LOVE. Loving my neighbors here and in the far corners of the world.
Starting in January projects, tutorials, quilts, paintings, topics all will be centered around LOVE.
2013...
"It's about Love, Love, Love that's what it's all about...LOVE." "Come on people...smile on your brother.....everybody get together....let us LOVE One Another..."

I knew that LOVE
would be included as one of my words for this hop!
Out of the blue, I made a quick stop at one of the local thrift shops in search of 'hidden treasure' and this was sitting on the shelf...obviously, the mug dictated my creation for the blog hop.
After a raid of my fabric stash and a few stitches here and there...
I also knew that TEA would
be included as one of my words for this hop!
I drink tea constantly!
I grabbed my paints and favorite inks and went to work creating the surface, then hand quilted this tiny quilt/wall hanging after all was dry. It is the smallest quilting project I have ever made...it is only 8 X 10 inches!
[Which then started an entirely different project...to be completed later this year.]You are familiar with the book, "Give a Mouse a Cookie"...it is the story of my life...I work on one project and 12 more creative adventures are birthed! :)
I'm off to fill my mug with hot tea and enjoy the other stops on today's hopping adventures.
I've added so many projects to my 'to do' list from this hop...maybe we shall have snow soon and endless hours of sewing pleasure.
