Many have asked about the mini Dresden and how to create the Brooch.
WARNING! Making mini Dresdens Can be Addictive and Habit Forming!!
There truthfully is NO Difference in the construction methods....the difference comes from the size of your template.
The "Secret" is out!
Mini Dresden Template |
Materials needed:
a small piece of fusible web
1 self-adhesive pin back
1 small decorative button
embroidery floss
fabrics
To create your template:
My template above is created from a piece of poster board, cracker boxes or chip board work nicely if you don't have any poster board.
The TOP edge is 1 1/2 inches wide.
The BOTTOM edge is 3/4 of an inch wide.
And the HEIGHT is 1 7/8 inches.
To create your own brooch, proceed in the method you like best for joining the blades. Press seams.
Add front center and any decorative stitches. Flip over and cover the back and add pin. Last add your decorative button to the front.
Tada! Easy fun addition to your wardrobe!!
with LOVE as always,
Beulah
